Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Wife to be Coronated Asiwaju, Yeye Asiwaju of Ibeshe Kingdom | ClipTV Online

Asiwaju is a title bestowed on astute, dogged, intelligent individual who is capable of leading and advising others. The title Asiwaju itself denote a “Leader”, having such a title carry lots of responsibilities. These responsibilities include but not limited to leadership and role-modelling.

Prior to the press conference, Prince Lanre Balogun, former Lagos state commissioner for Rural Development noted that the recognition is long overdue. He hailed chief Asipa Kaoli for his immense contribution to Ibeshe Kingdom in the past four decades.

Highlighting some of the key attributes that qualify Asipa Kaoli for the Asiwaju title, Prince Balogun noted some key characteristics as kindness, leadership style and passion to improve lives through education.

He further noted that the current Ibeshe road was facilitated by Kaoli during the second term of HE Governor Raji Fashola. Stating that Kaoli promised constant maintenance of the road to the governor.

The coronation which is set for Saturday will identify Chief Asipa Kaoli Olusanya as the new Asiwaju of Ibeshe Kingdom. The wife, Chief Mrs. Kemi Olusanya to be coronated as the Yeye Asiwaju of Ibeshe Kingdom.

In his address, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya acknowledge the new honorary title of Asiwaju as a commitment to deliver more. Stating, “together with my wife, Yeye Asiwaju of Ibeshe Land, we will continue to influence and facilitate government decisions that will bring development to Ibeshe Kingdom and by extension to Ikorodu division of Lagos State”.

He further hailed President Bola Tinubu GFCR and pointed a torch on some of the recent policies like tax reform and local government autonomy. Assuring the People of Ibeshe Kingdom that the tax reform is for the greater good of the people. “It reduces the amount of tax paid by those who earn less than a stipulated amount,” he said. “For example, if a business annual revenue is less than N150m, such business is exempted from paying tax”.

The new Asiwaju of Ibeshe Kingdom noted that “the tax reform will ensure those who earn more pay more. While those who earn less pay less, he stated.

Furthermore, Asiwaju noted that “the local government autonomy will enhance accountability and effectiveness in grassroot development.
He applauded the Olubeshe of Ibeshe Kingdom, Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya for acknowledging his worthiness to serve as the Asiwaju of the Kingdom. Asiwaju noted that “this is a clarion call to do more, it is an opportunity to further take development to the grassroot,” he said.

“Asiwaju means Leader, and I will continue to be the leader that will interface with the State and Federal Government to facilitate adequate road networks and other infrastructures to enhance business development and individual growth,” he concluded.

The wife, Chief Mrs. Kemi Olusanya, Yeye Asiwaju of Ibeshe Kingdom pledge to support the Asiwaju in his developmental decisions. She moreover noted that, that is her primary role. Yeye Asiwaju is committed to supporting women and girls’ children, to access quality education and stand up wherever they are.

In an interview with a stakeholder, Aarebirin Hon, Princess (Dr.) Folashade Olabanji-Oba, National Chairman, Association of Local Government Vice-Chairmen in Nigeria (ALGOVC) and Ikorodu Local Government Executive Vice chairman, she highlights Asiwaju Asipa Kaoli Olusanya as a “Leader of Leaders”. Noting, “today is a day of gratitude and celebration. It is a day to celebrate one of the greatest quintessential leaders of all time, she said.

She further stated “Asiwaju has not only been a leader, but a father, a mentor, a role model par excellence, and a transformer,” she highlighted. Stating that Asiwaju Asipa Kaoli has transform over 400 children lives within the community.
