As school resume back from holiday, it is apparently evident that pupils will need support at school. The support is to reduce the burden on parents. To bear part of parents and pupils burden, especially those that are struggling with access to basic learning materials, the Oriokuta Youth Progressive Association (OYPA) has commence its maiden Edu Relief Initiative. The Edu Relief is designed to reduce the financial burden of school items on parents. Also, it will ensure pupils remain focused on their studies.
These items are based on those who need them the most. Some were coming to school with tattered uniforms and do not even have writing materials. Some other were walking to school barefoot, this research around Oriokuta led the OYPA to the Edu Relief initiative.

Edu Relief
OYPA distributes, as part of the initiative, OYPA distributed:
300 exercise books
30 school uniforms
10 pairs of sandals
10 pairs of socks
10 school bags
100 pen
100 pencils
Habit Speech
Comrade Stephen Okereke, speaking at the event encouraged the pupils to cultivate the right habits that would shape their academic journey. He emphasized that developing habit of gratitude, and responsibility would prepare them not only for personal and academic success but also to give back to the society in the future.
Appreciations for OYPA Edu Relief
The Community Primary School (CPS), Oriokuta Head Teacher, Mr. Ajibola Kazeem, expressed heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the entire school. He described OYPA’s gesture as truly giving back to the society. He noted that the act will create positive impact on the children’s learning experience. While praising the initiative, he appealed for more assistance, stressing that the needs of the pupils are still enormous and “we are yet to scratched the surface,” he concluded.

Community Support
Oriokuta paramount leader, Baale Ibrahim Seriki, also lauded OYPA for their commitment to community development. He also note that he never knew that Oriokuta Youths could achieve so much with their little resour.
The Baale underlined the effect of what the Edu Relief will have on the community as while. He further states that such initiative will enhance pupils interest in education. He described the charitable act as a step towards strengthening the educational foundation of the community. Furthermore, the Baale pledged his continued support for similar youth-driven initiatives.
As the number one citizen in the community, the Baale further thanked the OYPA sponsors. Charged other organizations and individuals to be part of such noble acts.
OYPA’s Vision
OYPA President, Comrade Olatunji Idris, in his remarks highlighted that the Edu Relief package would reduce the financial strain on parents. He also stressed that it will enable pupils to concentrate on their studies without the distraction of lacking essential learning materials.
“The Edu Relief will reduce the amount of pressure on parents. It will further enhance the pupils’ ability to focus on teachings rather than on worries about writing materials,” he stated.
Olatunji further thanked the sponsors and donors of Edu Relief Initiative. He specially thanked Assured Way Investment CEO, Otunba Elujoba Adegoke Daniel for contributing immensely to the success of the initiative.

The maiden Edu Relief Initiative is the beginning of OYPA’s long-term commitment to strengthen education in Oriokuta. The relief pack will ensure that most children are catered for in terms of school uniforms and writing materials. Edu Relief will prevent the lack of basic school materials.
