Youths clamoured For Rehabilitation of Ebute Empowerment Centre and Provision of MSME Support Fund at Annual Stakeholders Consultative Forum Meeting on 2021 Budget – www.cliptvonline.com ~

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ikorodu West Local Branch, yesterday, Tuesday December 29th, 2020 *_participated in the Annual Stakeholders Consultative Forum meeting held to discuss the Year 2021 Budget of the LCDA._*

While speaking for the youths, the Coordinator; Comr Asoro Abubakri Olatunji asked the council leadership to consider the rehabilitation of the Ebute Empowerment Centre noting that the centre has the capacity to train more than 200 youths thereby reducing unemployment in the LCDA. He noted that for over five years, efforts for the rehabilitation of the centre including state intervention has failed, however, he advised the LCDA on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) which he said will be a win-win.

He noted further that due to the effect of the Covid 19 pandemic, jobs have been lost, he proposed a POST COVID-19 relief fund for youths with business ideas so as to cussion the effect of the aftermath of the pandemic. While also informing the Chairman that many youths in this category have shown interest through the Youth Council Job Portal launched about a month ago.

He commended the Chairman, executive council members and management team on the new land mark projects been embarked upon in the LCDA while noting that the renovation of the Ebute Empowerment Centre will be another of such land mark projects that will earn the council accolades when renovated.

Other youth council representatives at the event include Comr Anuoluwapo Taiwo; PRO and Comr Oyebode Ridwan Abolade; Deputy Director Art, Culture And Tourism.
