In an effort to improve the quality of Internet service, Nigeria has embarked on Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). This was discussed during the inauguration of a council on Thursday. The council is to oversee the IPv6 functionality and success.
IPv6 is the latest version of networking standard that replaced IPv4. The council launch was attended by stakeholders including the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) CEO, Dr. Aminu Maida.
