Niger State Set to Build 100 PHC

The Niger state government says it is constructing 100 units of second-tier primary healthcare centres (PHCs) across the 25 LGAs.

The special Adviser to the Governor on Digital media and strategy, Abdullberqy Ebbo, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

Ebbo noted that Umar Bago, Niger state governor, declared that about twenty of these centres were at different completion stages.

He included that two of the facilities would not commence operations immediately due to technical issues. “These are located at the Maitumbi FM in Bosso and Old Orphanage, Nasarawa C, in Chanchaga LGA in Niger,” he said.

Also mentioned that the project is aimed at bringing quality healthcare closer to those in the rural part of the State.

“The centres will be equipped with modern facilities, like maternity equipment, computers, and solar power system, among others,” Ebbo said.

“This is also to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the people of the state.” Ebbo said the projects are an indication that the Bago administration prioritises the health and well-being of the people.
