Celebrating 2024 Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Polaris Bank, the digital retail commercial bank in Nigeria has unveiled support for free screening. The screening which is to cover 250 free breast cancer screening among Nigerian women.
Besides, this is an indication that the Bank supports women’s health. Especially, in relation to the longstanding advocacy and prevention of breast cancer in particular.
COPE Partnership
The fight against breast cancer in Nigeria for the past one and half decade has been led by Polaris Bank with the support from Care Organisation Public Enlightenment (C.O.P.E.). This they have been able to achieve a nationwide success, in which they have screened more than 20,000 women.
This year’s sponsorship further the Bank’s vision in increasing the uptake of early diagnosis. It is particular among female patients who lack adequate health facilities for proper diagnosis. Noting that diagnosis and treatment are essential for survival.
Alignment with UN/WHO
These matters make sense with Polaris Bank’s activities towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 (UN SDG 3). The UN SDG 3 focus on the proper identification and stemming of diseases as well as overall decrease in unexpected deaths.
