CBOF Owned By RevolutionPlus Distributes Over 300 Bags Of Rice To Widows In Ikeja For Festive Period | www.cliptvone.com

Christmas has been a time anticipated by a millions group of people and individuals. It is usually colorful and a time of merriments. Because it is the end of the year, others see Christmas as a time to unite with friends and families for fun, thanksgiving, reunion, and other reasons that enable feast-making.

However, in developing countries like Nigeria, some may not be able able to afford a meal for such a beautiful day.

In preparation for Christmas, the Bamidele Onalaja Foundation (CBOF) is an initiative of the RevolutionPlus group and just supported over 300 widows with a bag of rice and groundnut oil each. This brought joy, radiance, and hope to families in Ikeja, the capital of Lagos State.

Though the support was meant for widows children, were celebrating and joyful as they support their mothers carrying these food items.

CBOF was founded in the year 2019 to relieve the poor and the needy in society by helping with basic degenerated necessities.

The non-profit organization has been touching lives through six core values which include Child and Maternal healthcare, Widows empowerment, Economic and community development, Free education, and scholarships. Widow empowerment is now an annual philanthropic program. “We have received the revelation from God to empower and feed the widows,” said the Matron, Mrs. Tolulope Onalaja.

“In 2019, as my adorable husband celebrates his birthday, we supported ten (10) widows with a sum of one hundred thousand (100,000) Naira each.” Thinking that was what we can do, in February 2020, during my fortieth birthday we supported additional forty widows.”

In the last three years, “we have empowered over six hundred widows” she added. “The empowerment includes grinding machines, sewing machines, training on liquid wash making, and so on.”

The event which took place on Monday was overwhelming as participating widows shared their appreciation and raised hope. Many of the widows couldn’t help but only pray for the Matron Mrs. Tolulope Onalaja, the Patron Mr. Bamidele Onalaja and their employees.

Mrs. Eze, age 54, one of the beneficiaries of the liquid wash training and capital empowerment shared that the business has been the only source of income for her and the four kids. “I’m not sure how to survive if this had not happened last year. This December again, there’s hope smiling before us as we now have Christmas rice and oil. We will go and buy chicken now,” she said with laughter.

Another widow testified of the positive effects of the empowerment as she thanked the founders of CBOF. “I am training my kids from the proceeds of pepper grinding.”

Dr. Onalaja the patron of CBOF when asked in an interview, why altruism, affirms that’s what God would want from every individual, “giving to others.”

“These do not apply to widows nor Lagos State only, but to everyone one that might be in need. Nevertheless, the current scopes are Child and Maternal Healthcare, Education and Scholarship Opportunity, Economic and Community Development, Widows Empowerment, Water Sanitation, and Hygiene, Disease Prevention and Control.”

“Some are already receiving the notion that I’m doing this for political ambition but I do not have such in mind. After gladly receiving some of our projects in Ogun State, we’ve got calls to come, and join politics but that’s not the original purpose of the humanitarian aid.”

He concluded by saying “our only request is the prayers of the beneficiaries, the more profit we accrue from RevolutionPlus  Property and our other businesses, the more giving back to the society we want to do.”
