Vice-President Kashim Shettima made his way to Maiduguri on Sunday in preparation for the upcoming Eid-El-Fitr celebration, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Upon his arrival at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport in Maiduguri, Shettima was warmly welcomed by the Borno Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, along with members of the State Executive Council and prominent party figures.
In light of the festivities, security measures have been significantly reinforced in Maiduguri and surrounding areas, a customary practice during such joyous occasions.
The Eid-El-Fitr celebration, marking the culmination of Ramadan fasting, is anticipated to take place either on Tuesday or Wednesday, contingent upon the sighting of the new moon signaling the arrival of the Islamic month of Shawwal. (NAN)
