Seyifunmi Adebiyi, Mrs. Awolola’s only daughter, shared heartfelt memories with journalists, painting a picture of a woman who was not just her mother but her best friend. “I called her Maami; she was my best friend,” Seyifunmi said, her voice filled with emotion.

“Everybody called the two of us the Aproko partners because we spoke for about three hours each day, discussing everything that happened at her end and mine. She was a giver and even in her last moments in the hospital, she made sure to provide for others, instructing me to continue her monthly contributions to people in need,” Seyifunmi recounted.

Family Friend Tributes

Kenneth Atuma, a family friend, expressed his condolences and shared his admiration for Mrs. Awolola. “She was a kind-hearted, loving, and prayerful woman. Meeting her, you immediately knew she was exceptional. Her life revolved around prayer, day and night. I pray that the family continues this trait of prayer,” Kenneth said.

Another friend, Joshua Odega, reflected on the inevitability of death and the profound impact Mrs. Awolola had. “Losing her is painful, but death is a natural part of life and it is inevitable. She was a beautiful soul, known for her philanthropic work, especially in the South West. I pray that God grants her children the strength to bear this loss,” he said.

Joshua emphasized the reality of loss, acknowledging the difficult times ahead for the family. “It’s a very difficult time now, but once the ceremonies are over, the family will reflect on how truly wonderful mama was. She lived a short but well-fulfilled life.”
