Nigeria Football Federation Praises Super Eagles’ Victory Over Mozambique in Friendly Match | Cliptv Online

The General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mohammed Sanusi, has commended the Super Eagles for their recent victory over Mozambique, describing it as a morale booster for the national team.

In the friendly match, Nigeria secured a 3-2 win over Mozambique, with goals scored by Terem Moffi, Frank Onyeka, and Moses Simon. This victory marked a significant achievement for the Super Eagles as it was their first friendly win in 55 months.

Sanusi emphasized that the win holds great importance for the team, particularly as they prepare for upcoming events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

“The win over Mozambique is a good one, and of course, we are happy we have won. It is also a morale booster for the team as they begin preparations for both the World Cup qualifiers as well as the AFCON,” said Sanusi.

He noted that the performance of the players in the friendly matches had demonstrated their capabilities and validated their selection.

The NFF Scribe also highlighted the importance of friendly matches in testing players and their ability to work cohesively as a team.

“The Super Eagles will kick off their World Cup qualifying campaign against Lesotho and Zimbabwe on Nov. 13 and Nov. 20, respectively. Following that, they will participate in the 34th AFCON, taking place in Cote d’Ivoire from Jan. 13 to Feb. 11, 2024,” he added.

The Super Eagles’ victory has certainly boosted their spirits and generated positive momentum as they prepare for these important international competitions.
