To promote extensive participation in the upcoming 13th International Trade Fair in Ogun State, the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce Industry, Mines & Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) has disclosed its comprehensive plans to prospective exhibitors. These plans, unveiled during a press briefing on March 21, 2024, underscore a commitment to fostering business connections, trade, and investment opportunities within the state.
Scheduled to take place from April 19th to 29th, 2024, the trade fair aims to facilitate the convergence of diverse industries, providing a platform for showcasing products and services, exploring market trends, and fostering customer relations. Under the theme “Achieving Economic Prosperity Through Business Connection, Trade And Investment,” the event promises to be a pivotal moment for local and international stakeholders alike.
Engineer Mike Akingbade M.I.E, JP, the President of OGUNCCIMA, emphasized the significance of the trade fair as a catalyst for business exchange and networking. “This veritable platform seeks to bridge the gap between local and international stakeholders through B2B, B2G, and B2C interactions,” he remarked. Akingbade highlighted the fair’s focus on connecting businesses and facilitating dialogue between policymakers, regulatory agencies, and the business community to drive economic growth, job creation, and overall prosperity in the state.
Among the highlights of the 13th edition is the introduction of a raffle draw, with the star prize being a 2-bedroom bungalow generously provided by the Ogun State Government in collaboration with OGUNCCIMA. Additionally, for the first time in the history of the trade fair, an Entertainment Village will be established to offer relaxation and social engagement opportunities, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.
Furthermore, OGUNCCIMA aims to bolster the state’s agribusiness sector and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by attracting investors and positioning Ogun State as the preferred investment destination. Akingbade urged media practitioners to showcase the abundant investment opportunities in Ogun State while portraying its peaceful environment conducive to business growth.
Dr. Olu Ola Aikulola, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Investment, emphasized the innovative nature of the upcoming trade fair, citing the production of drones and security vehicles within the state as examples of its diverse industrial capabilities. He urged stakeholders to spread awareness about the fair, ensuring widespread participation and engagement across various sectors.
Mrs. Oluyemisi Somorin Daudu, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Industry Trade and Investment, highlighted the introduction of innovative features such as daily raffle draws, an entertainment village, transportation services, medical outreach programs, and proactive engagement strategies to address stakeholders’ concerns and enhance the fair experience.
