PPDOA BEGS BUHARI TO LOOSE WAZIRI JETTY FROM NPA’S BONDAGE

The Petroleum Products Depot Owners Association (PPDOA) has appealed to the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria,Muhammad Buhari,Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu,the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaech to set loose the Waziri Jetty and members from the bondage of the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) apapa Lagos,that was ilegally closed down against court order by the Port Manager of Apapa ports complex,Mrs Olufunmilayo Olotu on Tuesday.

The Executive Secretary of the PPDOA,Mrs Patricia Okereke disclosed this on Tuesday during the Press Conference held at the Bourdilion road ikoyi,that their company is a law abiding company which a grave injustice has being perpetrated against their business in outright disregard for the law and this illegal act has led the company into a very huge loss.

She called on the authorities to intervene in the loosing and set free of the closure of the Jetty Waziri in or to let justice be done because the action has interfered with the petroleum business in the Lagos axis,an industry that already besieged and almost wiped out by unfavorable foreign exchange terms not to mention the ravages of COVID 19 in the world’ s economic situation today.

The Executive Secretary begged the government that their 6 member companies should not be allowed to be pushed out of the extremely high stake oil& gas business after investing billions of Naira to build outfit and continue to service the country.

Okereke therefore called the government to stop the NPA from putting charges on the masses because their attempt to take the land from about 6 member companies of Apapa Jetty would do no good but put peoples lives at risk of fire outbreak.

She stated further that the piece of land which the eyes of the NPA management are at the Waziri Jetty apapa,is the only property that can house the Fire fighting equipment right at the Waterfront. This is where flour mill trucks and petroleum tankers operate with their Gas and PMS products.
