President Tinubu Nominates Olukoyede as EFCC Chairman, Seeks Senate Confirmation | Cliptv Online

President Bola Tinubu has formally submitted a request to the Nigerian Senate for the screening and confirmation of Mr. Olukoyede as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Additionally, the President seeks Senate approval for the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Hassan as the Secretary of the anti-graft agency.

The official request was conveyed to the Senate during Tuesday’s plenary session and was read by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

In the letter addressed to the Senate, President Tinubu has nominated Olukoyede for the position of EFCC Chairman, with the request for a term of four years. He has also sought confirmation for Mohammed Hassan as the agency’s secretary. The nominations align with Sections 2 and 3 of the EFCC Establishment Act of 2004.

This move marks a significant step towards the leadership and organization of the EFCC, a critical institution in the nation’s efforts to combat economic and financial crimes. The President’s nominations will undergo scrutiny by the Senate before the official appointments are confirmed.
