Nigerian Army Intelligence School Commandant Honors Late Mother’s Legacy with Generous Christmas Gesture

In the spirit of Christmas and in remembrance of his late mother, Brigadier General Kingsley Nwanne Nwoko, the Commandant of Nigerian Army Intelligence School, orchestrated a heartwarming event on Christmas Eve, distributing palliatives to over 300 widows in Idumuje Ugboko community and neighboring areas of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State.

Honoring a Mother’s Legacy:

The generous act of Brigadier General Nwoko was not only an expression of festive goodwill but a poignant tribute to his late mother, Mrs. Beatrice Buno Nwoko. General Nwoko, deeply affected by his mother’s passing on October 1, 2022, initiated this gesture to commemorate her memory. Mrs. Beatrice Buno Nwoko, a revered figure in Idumeje, had been a widow for over three decades and was known for her community leadership and benevolent spirit.

The Christmas Celebration:

On Christmas Eve, General Nwoko reached out to the widows, bringing bags of rice, wrappers, packets of Maggi, salt, handwash, and cash to over 300 widows in Idumeje and its environs. The widows, joyous and appreciative, received the Christmas packages with gratitude, expressing their heartfelt prayers for General Nwoko.

Legacy Sustained:

During the celebration, General Nwoko affirmed his commitment to sustaining this benevolent tradition, a legacy inspired by his mother’s compassionate nature. The widows, touched by the gesture, not only found solace in the Christmas packages but also appreciated the Army General for bringing joy and warmth into their lives during the Yuletide season.

A Mother Remembered:

Late Mrs. Beatrice Buno Nwoko, a pioneer member of the United English Baptist Church, Kaduna, was affectionately known as Hajiya Gwari Road among her friends. Her legacy of kindness and community leadership lives on, as her son, Brigadier General Nwoko, continues to impact lives in her memory.

The Christmas celebration orchestrated by Brigadier General Nwoko exemplifies the true spirit of the season—bringing joy, comfort, and a sense of community to those who have endured hardship. As the widows in Aniocha North expressed their gratitude, the legacy of compassion left by Mrs. Beatrice Buno Nwoko continues to shine brightly through her son’s benevolent actions.
