The All Progressives Congress Iba LCDA party secretariat, Oba Goriola way was a beehive of activities on Tuesday 9th, March 2021 as Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril (YAJ) popularly known as ABILA and his team stormed the secretariat to officially declare his Chairmanship ambition to the party caretaker Executives.

It was a thrilling home coming affair for the youthful, simple, vibrant and dynamic grassroot politician who is also the LGA Youth Leader of APC, Iba LCDA as he stormed the LGA Excos meeting to officially declared his intention to view for the Chairmanship position of Iba LCDA in the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos State and beseeched the party bloc to throw their weight behind him as one of them.

Barr. Tunde Lawal, while welcoming the aspirant and his team eulogised him for being a party man, for adequately taking care of the party when he was the Sole Administrator of the party. “Apart from the renovation of the party Secretariat and restoration of running water there, he has always proven to be a party man”~the party Chairman eulogised Abila. He however asked the aspirant of his plans for the party and the Executives.

Amidst jubilating chants from women and the Apc Ward Youth Leaders saying “Abila is one of us, Abila we know, Abila we trust”, the calm and collected youthful mobilizer cum Aspirant started his speech by thanking the house for the warm reception. He specifically appreciated the party Chairman for his transparency, sincerity and incorruptible leadership.

Thanking God for the opportunity to be alive to witness a special day like today, Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril (Abila) openly declared his intention to vie for the position of Chairman of Iba LCDA in the forthcoming Local Government elections and asked the house which he described as his family to give him their support acknowledging his innate desire to serve selflessly, to always carry the party along in all activities, represent the interests of all without pride or prejudice, above all, make the party proud and happy because he is still part and parcel of the party.

RESPONSES:

Mr Wunmi Ayeni the LGA Publicity Secretary of the party in his speech said for the irretractable fact that Hon. Abila is an integral part of the LGA Executives, he must be supported by all LGA Executive members. He however commended the party leadership in Iba LCDA for the impeccable rotational understanding of taking the Chairmanship of the Local Government to ward B after which ward C, D, and E will accordingly have their turn since ward A had taken their turn.

“I commend you and your team for giving the first significance and deserved recognition to the party’s LGA Executives. It is not easy to show aspiration, Abila 2021 always take the lead to do the appropriate things, it portrays preparedness and focus. He however reminded members of the political ideology where the leaders of the party though the Apex Leader during the era of Late Akanbi Suarau consistently decided the party’s flagbearer and averted pre-election, election and post election crises. He concluded by saying nobody has done more than Hon. Abila for the party in Iba as the head of the Local Government since its creation”~Hon. Femi Omole

The LGA Women Leader, Mrs Funmilayo Ogabi (JP) on her part showered prayers on the aspirant and his team and reiterated that it is a must for all LGA Executive members to support their own. She described the aspirant as a humble, nice, generous, accessible and approachable person, concluding that his indelible records as Sole Administrator of the Local Government speak volume.

Alhaji Wahab Sanni, one of the LGA Excos said politics has gone beyond shying away from the truth that all the testimonies shared about Hon. Abila are nothing but the true reflection of his personality. He is just too accommodating, sincere and honest. His records are enough for his victory.

Pastor Emeka Amaraegbu, the Youth Leader, Ndigbo in APC Lagos State also corroborated other testimony givers by revealing how Hon. Abila during his time as the Sole Administrator of Iba LCDA united the hitherto factionalized Igbos in Apc and gave them incomparable recognition in the affairs of the Local Government. He further revealed that this unity and settlement brokered by this unassuming Youthful Aspirant catapulted two of us (himself and Chief George) from Iba LCDA to the state executive of the Ndigbo in Apc. Igbos are not known for ingratitude, the reason why we all have pitched our tent with our benefactor, a friend of the Igbos and choice of the people.

The body of the APC Ward Youth Leaders in Iba LCDA led by Mr Sadu Alebiosu Ward D Youth Leader also declared their unflinching support for the LGA Youth Leader and enjoined all party faithfuls through LGA Excos to allow the slogan of the APC Youth to prevail. Concluding that “this is the Youth’s time” and the best man for the job is the APC LGA Youth Leader of Iba LCDA Hon Yisa Abiola Jibril (Abila).

The Aspirant’s souvenirs were dished out to Excos.
