As the Executive Director of YETI Global Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development and humanitarian assistance, I am compelled to write to express our deepest concern about the recent stampede incidents that occurred in various parts of Nigeria.

The tragic events, which resulted in the loss of lives and injuries, are a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of food insecurity in our country. It is unacceptable that in a nation blessed with abundant natural resources and agricultural potential, many citizens are forced to struggle for survival due to lack of access to basic necessities like food.

Therefore, we are making a pressing appeal to Nigerian leaders and wealthy citizens to take immediate action to address the scourge of food insecurity in our country. We urge them to provide emergency food assistance to vulnerable communities, support sustainable agricultural initiatives, and invest in programs that promote food security and nutrition.

Furthermore, we call on the government to develop and implement policies that prioritize food security, support small-scale farmers, and promote equitable distribution of food resources.
