The Kwara State Police Command has honored Otunba Taofeek Abefe Bello, Otunba Akewuje of Offa Land, and Chief Executive Officer of Solid Worth Group of Companies, for his contributions to the Nigeria Police Force and efforts towards strengthening police-community relations in the state.
The recognition was part of activities marking the commissioning of projects at the Nigeria Police Force C Division, Ilorin, where the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Adekimi Ojo, PSC+, mnips, also presided over an award presentation ceremony.
The event, held at the C Division premises and facilitated by the Divisional Police Officer, DSP Saliu Kayode, brought together senior police officers, community stakeholders, and other guests to celebrate partnerships aimed at improving policing and public safety.
A major highlight was the presentation of a special appreciation award to Otunba Bello in recognition of his sustained support for the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the Adewole Division.
The commemorative plaque described him as a philanthropist whose care, sacrifice, and commitment had contributed to the operations of the police division. It also acknowledged his consistent assistance and support for police personnel.
Presenting the recognition, the Command highlighted the importance of individuals and organizations that contribute to strengthening the capacity of security institutions and fostering public confidence in law enforcement.
CP Ojo Advocates Stronger Police-Community Partnership
Speaking at the event, CP Adekimi Ojo stressed the importance of collaboration between the Police and members of the public in achieving effective policing.
The Commissioner commended responsible citizens, community leaders, and corporate organizations for supporting the Command’s efforts to maintain law and order across the State.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to professionalism, discipline, intelligence-led policing, and improved service delivery, in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
According to him, effective policing requires not only the efforts of security personnel but also the cooperation and support of communities and other stakeholders.
Projects to Enhance Police Operations
The commissioning of projects at C Division also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve policing infrastructure and provide a more conducive working environment for officers and personnel.
The newly commissioned facilities are expected to support operational efficiency, improve personnel morale, and enhance service delivery to residents within the division’s area of responsibility.
Otunba Bello has been recognized for his support for security institutions in Kwara State, particularly through interventions that improve the welfare and operational effectiveness of police personnel.
The event ended with goodwill messages, presentations, and renewed calls for stronger partnerships between the Police, private-sector stakeholders, community leaders, and members of the public.
Participants emphasized that sustained collaboration remains essential to strengthening public safety, promoting peace, and improving community development in Kwara State.
