Aare Adetola Emmanuel-King emphasized the importance of consolidation as a precursor to transformation within the real estate sector. He urged Dr. Oshundairo to focus on strengthening REDAN’s foundation through intensified media publicity and collaborative advocacy efforts aimed at influencing government policies and decisions affecting the industry.
During the meeting, Dr. Segun Oshundairo outlined his manifesto, which included several key intentions aimed at revolutionizing the real estate landscape:
- Developers Mortgage Plan: Dr. Oshundairo proposed collaborating with the government to establish a Developers Mortgage Plan. Facilitating developers’ ability to acquire affordable estates and create reasonably priced housing for the masses.
- Establishment of an Advisory Board: He pledged to create an Advisory Committee comprising seven stakeholders to provide guidance. The board will as well provide training on the implementation of sound policies and procedures within REDAN.
- Rural Land Development: Dr. Oshundairo articulated plans to open up lands in rural areas such as Ofada and Papalantoro. “Converting them into mega cities with affordable real estate options” he said.
- Rebranding and Publicity: Under his leadership, REDAN would undergo rebranding efforts. Thus, including a new logo, enhanced policies, and increased visibility to attract more stakeholders and members.
Aare Adetola Emmanuel-King underscored the significance of rebranding and expanding REDAN’s membership base. He emphasized the pivotal role REDAN plays in shaping the future of real estate, particularly in Lagos State, stating, “There can’t be a greater Lagos without REDAN.” Additionally, he advocated for the establishment of a universal market price for landed properties, facilitating the creation of affordable housing for Lagosians and Nigerians nationwide.
