Ajegunle Gears Up for Landmark 2-Day Women Summit | ClipTV Online

Ajeromi Ifelodun Women Summit 2024

In a pioneering move, Ajegunle will host the first-ever Women Summit organized by any Local Council on July 1 and 2, 2024, at the Abayomi Awodiora Hall. This groundbreaking event, coupled with a N100 million empowerment program, is spearheaded by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, whose innovative initiatives continue to captivate the local community.

Empowering Women for a Brighter Future:

The 2-day Women Summit aims to uplift and empower women through a series of seminars, talk shows, and substantial material support.

Day One will feature seminars and talk shows by distinguished guest speakers, focusing on how women can elevate their roles and better support their families. The discussions will also include practical sessions on safe handling of cooking gas cylinders at home, ensuring a blend of educational and practical knowledge.

Day Two will be dedicated to the distribution of cash grants, household items such as food packages, deep freezers, and other empowerment equipment, collectively worth N100 million. This initiative is designed to recognize and bolster the critical roles women play in their homes and the community at large.

Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Our goal is to support and appreciate the resilience of women in our community, providing them with the resources they need to thrive.”

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

At an Executive Council Meeting held on June 24, Hon. Ayoola appointed his deputy, Hon. Lucky Uduikhue, as Chair of the Planning Committee. Additionally, Hon. Supervisor Abdulhakeem Suleiman will oversee Venue Preparation, Decoration, and Security, while Hon. Supervisor Valiant Samson Idowu-Alaba will lead the Media Engagement Sub-Committee. These committees have been tasked with ensuring the seamless execution of the event.

Enhancing Security in Ajegunle:

In response to a recent surge in crime, the Local Government is set to distribute 18 operational vehicles to various security agencies in phases. Identified flashpoints will see vehicles stationed around the clock, enhancing security in critical areas. The three Police Divisions, along with the Army, Navy, Nigerian Security & Civil Defense Corps, and others, will benefit from this initiative.

Initially, 10 brand new vehicles will be distributed, with further distributions planned to ensure comprehensive coverage.

This dual initiative marks a significant step towards community empowerment and enhanced security, reflecting the Council’s commitment to the well-being and safety of its residents.
