The family of the late Ezinne Monica Amaraebigwu Ebereonwu, fondly known as Nne Commander, has announced the burial arrangements. This arrangement is for the revered matriarch, who passed on at the remarkable age of 106 years.

Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) Julius Agueri of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has shared this announcement earlier on Monday. In this statement, the late centenarian was described as a pillar of strength, wisdom and service, whose long life left an enduring impact on her family and community. She hailed from Umuaku, Umuonumi Umuokire, Okuku, in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.

‎According to the burial programme, activities will commence on Friday, February 13, 2026, with a wake-keep at her husband’s compound in Okuku.
‎
‎A Requiem Mass in her honour is scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Arah Parish, Okuku, after which her remains will be interred at her husband’s compound.

‎The burial ceremonies will be concluded on Sunday, February 15, 2026, with an outing service at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

‎The family expressed gratitude to well-wishers, friends, and members of the community for their prayers and support, while inviting them to join in celebrating the life and legacy of a woman whose longevity and values stood as a source of inspiration to many.
