EFCC Refute Disobeying Court Order Regarding Yahaya Bello |ClipTV Online

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has refuted allegations of disobeying a court order concerning the attempted arrest of former Kogi State governor, Mr. Yahaya Adoza Bello. In a Press Statement issued by the EFCC’s Acting Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, the Commission clarified its stance on the matter.

Contrary to claims, the EFCC emphasized that while Bello obtained a fundamental rights enforcement order from Justice Isa Jamil Abdulallahi of the Kogi State High Court, this order did not invalidate a separate order issued by the Federal High Court for Bello’s arrest in connection with pending criminal charges.

Mr. Uwujaren highlighted that the Federal High Court’s arrest order for Bello’s arraignment is distinct from the rights enforcement action pursued in the Kogi State High Court. He stressed that the EFCC remains committed to prosecuting politically exposed individuals and urged Bello to surrender himself to face the charges against him.

The EFCC Acting Director urged patriotic Nigerians to support the Commission’s anti-corruption efforts, reiterating the agency’s determination to combat corruption effectively.
