Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility by renovating the Primary Healthcare Clinic at Workers Village in the Tudun Amba Community, Lafia Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. Alongside the clinic upgrade, the bank also installed water facilities to address the community’s water scarcity issues.
The inauguration ceremony saw Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head of Brand and Communication at Fidelity Bank, emphasize the bank’s dedication to uplifting the dignity and living conditions of individuals within their host communities. “The dignity of every human person is a shared responsibility,” Nwagboh stated, highlighting the project as part of Fidelity Bank’s ongoing efforts to positively impact various communities across Nigeria.
Nwagboh expressed gratitude to the community leaders for their cooperation, stating, “What we are doing today is not different from what we have been doing in communities, local governments, and states across the country over the years. As a socially responsible organisation, we take it upon ourselves to impact our host communities positively through developmental initiatives such as these.”
Honourable Commissioner of Health for Nasarawa State, Gaza Gwamna, lauded Fidelity Bank for their contributions. Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, John Damina, Gwamna acknowledged the bank’s efforts in enhancing local healthcare infrastructure and providing essential water resources. He called on the Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NAPHDA) to ensure proper maintenance of the upgraded facility to inspire further support from the private sector.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on the management of the NAPHDA to ensure proper utilization of this facility for the good of the host community and beyond. This will go a long way in encouraging other private sector players to extend the same gesture to other communities in the state,” Damina remarked.
