Fidelity Bank Renovates Orphanage, Provides Food, Education Support | ClipTV Online

Leading financial institution, Fidelity Bank Plc, has reinforced its commitment to community development and social welfare. The intervention occured through a major project at Heritage Homes Orphanage in Anthony Village, Lagos.

The intervention was carried out under the Bank’s Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP). It saw the renovation of critical facilities at the orphanage and provision of food supplies. It also includes fumigation of the premises and payment of school fees for some of the children.

FHHP is the Bank’s flagship employee-driven corporate social responsibility initiative. It enables staff to identify impactful community projects, raise funds for their execution and receive matching support from the Bank.

The outreach was championed by the Bank’s Audacious Class of newly inducted employees after assessing the orphanage’s most pressing needs.

Speaking during the outreach, Fidelity Bank’s Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, said the initiative reflects the Bank’s belief. Noting that lasting impact is achieved by empowering employees to support causes that directly benefit their communities.

Nwagboh further said that the intervention is focused on three major areas—renovating the damaged roof, POP ceiling, providing food supplies and ensuring that some of the children could continue their education through the payment of school fees.

“This is what the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme is about. It gives our employees the opportunity to contribute their time, resources and talents towards improving lives in the communities where we operate,” he said.

Nwagboh added that the Bank remains committed to supporting initiatives that create sustainable value and improve the well-being of vulnerable members of society.

Receiving the donation, the Assistant General Manager of Heritage Homes Orphanage, Irene Light, expressed gratitude to Fidelity Bank for what she described as a timely and life-changing intervention.

She noted that the Bank completely renovated the orphanage’s roof, replaced the damaged POP ceiling, fumigated the facility, donated food items and paid school fees for some of the children.

According to her, the intervention has restored hope, improved the living conditions within the orphanage and created a safer and more conducive environment for the children.

Light also commended Fidelity Bank for its commitment to community development and offered prayers for the continued growth and success of the institution.

Fidelity Bank Plc serves more than 10 million customers through its digital banking platforms, 255 business offices across Nigeria and its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.

The Bank has received several local and international recognitions, including the 2025 Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) Innovation Award for MSME support, Best Retail and SME Bank by Independent Newspapers, Best Bank for Export & Trade Finance and Most Innovative Bank of the Year at the 2025 BusinessDay BAFI Awards, as well as Nigeria’s Best Private Bank at the 2025 Euromoney Awards.
