Igbodu Community Development Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on January 27, 2024, was a remarkable success. The AGM showcase unity and commitment of its members to the development of the community, Cliptv can report.
The event kicked off at precisely 11:00 AM with an invocation by Christian and Muslim representatives, Pastor Moses Oladejo and Alfa Adeoye Olatunji. The duo set the tone for a day filled with reflections and aspirations.

Mr. Kunle Oshifunwa, the veteran general secretary, led the reading of the previous year’s AGM minutes, resolutions, and adoptions. Notably, members were encouraged to engage in planting activities, emphasizing the generation of liquid oxygen. Equally important from last year AGM is the importance of taking good care of our health.

Mr. Sikiru Balogun, the CDA Chairman, expressed gratitude to the members, highlighting their pivotal role in the association’s success. He welcomed attendees and acknowledged the inaugurated executives for their achievements, including projects such as a solar-powered water facility and the maintenance of an electric transformer for stable electricity.

Alhaji Lukman Shonibare, retired FIFA Approved coach, Ikorodu CDC Secretary who doubled as the CDAC secretary, praised the CDA executives. “We have round pegs in round holes”, he said. He emphasized the importance of community involvement through meeting attendance and timely dues payment.
Chairman Speech
Dr. Wasiu Odufisan, the chairman of the day, emphasized the significance of respecting community leaders regardless of their age or financial status.
He also encouraged resolving issues privately for the community’s development. He itched honesty and constructive criticism, promoting a culture of support and unity among members and leaders.
Mr. Abiola Odunuga, Chairman of Igbodu CDA Phase 1, unveiled a new public address system and the Igbodu CDA sticker. He commended the executives for the initiative and community members for their support. The initiatives were also utilized to generate revenue to the community purse.
Guest Speaker
Guest Speaker, Mr. Sulaimon Shitta, Chairman Unity Powerline, Idiroko, discussed maintaining stability during challenging times and the crucial role of community development associations.
He urged members to support the executives in generating revenue for community projects. He also highlighted the importance of paying their monthly due at the right time.
Shitta, illustrated other means of generating revenue without overloading community members. He cited examples from his own CDA and encouraged members to support the executives.
Awards
Awards were presented to outstanding community members in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the development of Igbodu CDA.

In an interview with Cliptv Online, Dr. Wasiu Odufisan expressed excitement about Igbodu’s growth but stressed the need to match it with needed development. He emphasized the importance of leaders consulting community elders to avoid disagreements and tap into their resources, contacts, and wealthy experiences.
Alhaji Shonibare Lukman, Secretary to the State Governor on Community Development Advisory Council CDAC, highlighted the essence of AGM. He emphasized its role in bringing people together. It serves as a means for “accountability, financial transparency,” he said.
He then urged members to contribute more to community development.
The AGM provided an invaluable opportunity for reflection on the past year and the formulation of new resolutions for the continued progress of Igbodu Community.
