India @77: Minister Musawa Highlights Shared Nigeria–India Values | ClipTV Online

The Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, joined senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and the Indian community in Abuja to celebrate the 77th Republic Day of the Republic of India.

The event brought together senators, ministers, ambassadors, and distinguished guests, reflecting the enduring friendship and growing cooperation between Nigeria and India.

In his address, the High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, Abhishek Singh, highlighted India’s democratic journey since the adoption of its Constitution in 1950 and outlined the country’s recent achievements in economic growth, digital innovation, healthcare, manufacturing, and global development cooperation. He described India as the world’s fastest-growing major economy and a leading voice of the Global South, while reaffirming India’s strong commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Nigeria across trade, investment, technology, and people-to-people engagement.

The High Commissioner also noted the expanding footprint of Indian investments in Nigeria and expressed confidence that continued collaboration between both nations would deliver shared prosperity and long-term development outcomes.

In her remarks, the Honourable Minister congratulated the Government and people of India on the milestone, describing the celebration as a tribute to democratic values, resilience, and cultural richness. She noted the strong cultural bonds between Nigeria and India and reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to strengthen collaboration in culture, film, tourism, and the creative economy.

She emphasised the importance of promoting shared heritage and building a future where creative minds can innovate, explore, and connect the world through stories and artistic expression.

The celebration also featured goodwill messages from other senior members of the Federal Executive Council and dignitaries, all of whom highlighted the importance of Nigeria–India relations in advancing cooperation, mutual respect, and shared progress.

The Honourable Minister once again congratulated India on its 77th Republic Day, wishing the nation continued peace, prosperity, and progress, while celebrating the enduring friendship between Nigeria and India.
