Lagos Police Sensitize Officers Over Welfare and Insurance Policies

The Lagos State Police Command has organised a sensitization programme on Police Insurance and Welfare Schemes as part of ongoing efforts by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM,to enhance the welfare of officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.

The lecture, held for officers of the Command, was delivered by ACP Ameh Lydia of the Force Insurance Section, who reaffirmed the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police and the Force Insurance Section to improving the welfare and financial security of police personnel.

Lagos Police Sensitize Officers on Welfare and Insurance Policies

During the session, officers were educated on the structure and functions of the Force Insurance Section, as well as the various insurance and welfare packages available to them. These include the Group Life Assurance Scheme, Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance Scheme, Group Personal Accident Scheme, IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme, and the newly introduced Voluntary Contributions Scheme, designed to provide officers with additional opportunities to strengthen their financial well-being.

ACP Lydia also informed participants about the ongoing sale of shares in the NPF Insurance Company, encouraging interested officers to take advantage of the investment opportunity.

Speaking at the programme, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, commended the Inspector-General of Police for prioritising the welfare of officers and appreciated the Force Insurance Section for organising the sensitisation exercise.

He urged officers to take full advantage of the available insurance and welfare schemes, noting that improved welfare remains critical to boosting morale, enhancing productivity and promoting effective service delivery.

The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that promote the welfare, financial security and professional development of its personnel as part of efforts to strengthen policing and public safety across the state.
