LASIEC Boss Rallies Lagos Residents on Voter Registration | ClipTV Online

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) Chairman, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (Rtd.), has called on all eligible residents of Lagos State to take full advantage of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).

Justice Okikiolu-Ighile emphasized that voter registration is the foundation of democratic participation, noting that democracy can only flourish when citizens take ownership of the process by registering, voting, and holding leaders accountable.

“The right to vote is the cornerstone of democracy,” she stated, urging all eligible Lagosians ; particularly first-time voters and those who have relocated, to utilize this opportunity to register, update, or transfer their voter information. “Your PVC is your voice, and your voice must be heard in shaping the future of our communities and our dear State.”

She reaffirmed LASIEC’s commitment to sustained voter education and sensitization initiatives across Lagos State, in line with its mandate to conduct credible local government elections and strengthen grassroots democracy.

The Chairman also appealed to community leaders, civil society organizations, youth groups, and other stakeholders to support the mobilization of residents, ensuring that no eligible citizen is excluded from the registration process.

Justice Okikiolu-Ighile concluded by reminding Lagosians that: “A vibrant democracy is built by active citizens, and registering to vote is the first step in that journey.”
