LSBTS CELEBRATES BENJAMINN AS THE HIGHEST BLOOD DONOR IN LAGOS

The member of the Nigeria Red Cross Society, Mr. Benjamin Aghoro has been honored as the highest blood donor in Lagos state by the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service (LSBTS).

The Executive Secretary of the LSBTS, Dr. Bodunrin Akinniranye revealed this on Monday during the Lagos Advocacy road walk to commemorate the annual 14th of June world blood donor day celebration held in the vicinity of Gbagada General hospital, that the man has donated over 100 blood to save humanity which made him and every blood donor special heroes.

The Executive Secretary said a lot of donor has donated in so many ways, like 50 times that would award about 30 of them great medals for a job well done to make Lagos hospital lack no blood as they donated.

She however urged ages 18 to 65 lagosians not to be afraid in donating blood, that step by which people donate does not hurt but gives way for more fresh blood to come out in the body because the moment you donate blood it benefits you as an individual and those who receive the blood, she said.

Dr. Akinniranye thereby expressed further that LSBTS has never stopped creating awareness to advocate for more blood donor in the state to make people know the importance of the donations that as it partners with cooperate organization so it partners with non cooperate organization and youth organization as well because Lagos has not enough blood donor.

The member of Banner diagnose, Mr . Adetunji Kolawole Moradeyo called on lagosians to join in the donation voluntarily each time they visit the hospital because it is necessary saying that there is no person who could function if there is no blood, he said.

The Highest blood donor in Lagos, Mr. Benjamin Aghoro commended the LSBTS for the honor so far to encourage people to save lives by donating blood and he expressed that he has been contributing to the blood donation since 2004 when he started as LOC member. He however advised Nigerians to change their mentality and the misrepresentation that the blood is being sold but that each service rendered in blood donation is saved for blood transfusion including the money paid any where its never for the blood he concluded.

The Head of marketing of shifting healthcare plus, Pharmacist Friday Enaholo commended the Lagos state government for the key enlightenment and wished that many organization across the country support in the blood donations because this donations could save everyone during any loss of blood like in the child birth, Accident, some other infants and people like that require urgent intervention, he explained.

Others in partnership were Life safer international Taiwo Akinsanya, NGO and First bank.
