Up Your Game, CDC Ikorodu LG Charged CDA Chairmen | ClipTV Online

The Ikorodu Local Government Community Development Committee (CDC) held its monthly meeting and training session on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. During the meeting, Chairman Elder Ogunjimi Yekini Ishola expressed his displeasure over the poor attendance at the monthly training sessions. He noted that the lack of attendance leads to members asking irrelevant questions on the platforms.

Elder Ogunjimi also announced an upcoming solar energy system training. Alhaji Lukman Sonibare, the CDC Chairman Emeritus and current CDC and CDAC Secretary, extended his gratitude to the executive local chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, and the Head of Agriculture Department (HOD Agric) for their support towards the CDC. He emphasized the need for at least thirty participants to ensure the training’s effectiveness, despite the current economic challenges.

He recommend CDA Chairmen to put in their members when opportunity arise from CDC. He express displeasure over nonchalant attitude of some CDAs when opportunities present itself.

It was reported that some Community Development Associations (CDAs) are charging exorbitant fees for acquiring street names.

Super Palliative:
The distribution of palliatives is scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 28, to the 57 Local Governments (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). The CDC will receive the palliatives when they arrive in Ikorodu LG and distribute them to the respective zones. Alhaji Sonibare mentioned that the palliatives would be delivered based on submitted names.

CDC Budget:
The HOD Agric confirmed that there is a budget allocation for the CDC in the LG. He urged the audience to participate actively in such meetings, highlighting the benefits of attendance. He also commended the Omitoro and Ladegboye CDAs for attending the familiarization visit meeting.

The meeting concluded with a reminder of the importance of active participation and collaboration to achieve the community’s development goals.
