‎8thGear Hub, MRC, Partners GIZ to Boost Digital Skills Among Ikorodu Youths | ClipTV Online

‎In an info session on Monday, the 8thGear Hub, Migrant Resource Center (MRC), and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) has partnered to strengthen youth capacity in the digital economy. The info session carried out at the Ikorodu Town Hall will equip youths and young adults with structured and market-relevant digital skills.

‎It was noted that the training will last for twenty days which is a equivalent to one month.

‎The initiative is designed to bridge the skills gap among Nigerian youths by providing hands-on training across key areas of the tech ecosystem.

‎8thgear hub further note that the effort will position participants for both local and global opportunities. The program is one of the initiatives to improve youths digital skill across the nation.

‎The partners  highlighted the available digital skills.

‎These vocations include: software development, product management, digital marketing, graphic design, cyber security, and data analysis, representative of 8thGear Hub noted.

‎Under the programme, participants are trained in software development, with a focus on both frontend and backend development.

‎The 8thGear Hub program also accommodate emerging approaches such as vibe coding.

‎The product management curriculum enables trainees to serve as a bridge between customers, development teams, and market demands.

‎Additionally, the programme offers courses in cybersecurity. The cyber security course will emphasize ethical practices and techniques required to safeguard digital systems against threats.

‎To round off the skill set, beneficiaries are exposed to digital marketing. The program will equip the participants with the tools to promote products and services effectively in today’s digital marketplace.

‎Speaking on the initiative, organisers noted that the partnership aims to produce industry-ready talents. Noting the structured competencies that align with evolving global standards and the available jobs in Germany.

‎Facilitators added that the programme will not only equip youths skill acquisition but also empowered youths to become innovators.

Further noting that youths and young adults will be entrepreneurs, and contributors to Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

‎The collaboration reflects a broader commitment to youth empowerment and underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable development through technology.
