As the year 2024 winds down, the Lagos State Labour Party (LP) organized a Thanksgiving session and stakeholders’ get-together tagged Elupee Stakeholders Adult Night Out. The event, which combined spiritual reflection and social celebration, was a moment for party members and leaders to give thanks, familiarize, and strategize for the future.

Speaking with ClipTV Online, Hon. Imolede Ibukun Josiah noted that the event was an opportunity to thank God for the successes and challenges of 2024, as well as to reconnect as a party. “Though we lost the last elections in Edo and Ondo States, this night is an avenue to return to the drawing board and plan for a brighter future,” he said.

Night of Reflections

The evening began with prayers from both Christian and Islamic representatives, emphasizing unity and faith. Hon. Imolede, General Secretary of the Conscience Forum and former LP House of Assembly candidate for Surulere Constituency 2, opened the event with heartfelt remarks. He expressed gratitude to party leaders for organizing the gathering and extended special thanks to LP stalwarts, Hon. Moshood Salvador and Chief Omotayo Bashorun Anjorin, for their unwavering supports and contributions to the success of the gathering.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a Humanitarian Service Award to Chief Anjorin in recognition of his contributions to humanity.

In his acceptance message, Chief Anjorin humbly described himself as a chief servant rather than a leader, emphasizing his commitment to serving the people and advancing their welfare.

2025 LG  Elections

Imolede assured party members of a stronger LP emerging in the upcoming 2025 Lagos State Local Government elections. “Labour Party will sweep many local governments. Nigerians should expect a bigger, better, election-winning Labour Party,” he declared.

Stakeholders’ Perspectives

Hon. Aboyewa Olayemi, a stakeholder from Ibeju-Lekki, hailed the efforts of the Ibeju-Lekki LP Chairman, Comrade Iyke, in ensuring the success of the event. Despite challenges such as festive travel, she noted the impressive turnout. “The turnout is massive. I was not expecting this huge success,” she said.

She also highlighted LP’s grassroots initiatives in Ibeju-Lekki, particularly in empowering women and youths. She called on all party members to unite and work towards achieving LP’s goals.

Former Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 2 aspirant, Comrade Augustine Chiagozie Matthew, reiterated the importance of the event. “We are here to dine and wine, but more importantly, to familiarize and better position Labour Party for the challenges ahead,” he said.

Building Momentum

The Elupee Stakeholders Adult Night Out not only celebrated the end of the year but also served as a platform to galvanize party members for future success. With a renewed focus on strategy, unity, and grassroots empowerment, the Labour Party is positioning itself as a formidable force in Nigerian politics.

As Hon. Imolede said, “The Labour Party is coming stronger. We are not just here to celebrate; we are here to prepare for a brighter tomorrow.”
