FG, Ananse Unveil Creative Hub to Drive Fashion and Innovation | ClipTV Online

Abuja, Nigeria, June 2025 — In a landmark move to transform Nigeria’s creative economy and empower young talents, the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ananse Internet Group. This milestone agreement officially launches the Ananse Centre for Design, a world-class creative hub to be established in Lagos, with plans to scale across the country.

Anchored on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, this partnership signals a renewed national commitment to fostering inclusive economic growth, unlocking opportunities in the fashion and creative industries, and leveraging innovation for sustainable development.

The Ananse Centre for Design will focus on fashion, leather craftsmanship, and digital storytelling, equipping over 5,000 creatives with access to advanced training, cutting-edge resources, and a Pan-African trade network that links local talent with global markets.

Speaking on the initiative, the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, noted:

“This collaboration with Ananse is a bold step toward economic diversification and youth empowerment. It embodies the spirit of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by bridging creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship in a way that uplifts communities and accelerates national development.”

Under the agreement, the Ministry will provide strategic leadership, policy support, funding, and infrastructure across designated locations in Nigeria. Ananse will bring its technical expertise, digital platforms, and internationally recognised training models to ensure world-class programme delivery.

The first hub is scheduled to open in Lagos in the second half of 2025. It will serve as a prototype for similar centres to be launched across the country, each designed to stimulate grassroots innovation and support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), especially those led by women and youth.

Key Features of the Partnership
• Empowerment at Scale: More than 5,000 creatives to be trained and supported through the hub’s integrated business and digital curriculum
• Infrastructure and Reach: Ministry-led rollout of physical hubs across multiple Nigerian states to create nationwide impact
• Access to Global Trade: Creative entrepreneurs will be connected to Ananse’s cross-border e-commerce platform and international fashion markets
• Innovation and Insight: Both parties will collaborate on research to inform industry development and guide evidence-based policy interventions

A joint oversight committee will be established to monitor implementation, evaluate progress, and ensure long-term sustainability. A performance dashboard will track key indicators including training numbers, business growth, job creation, and industry collaborations.

This partnership stands as a testament to Nigeria’s commitment to becoming a continental leader in cultural and creative excellence, digital transformation, and youth-driven economic revitalisation.
