KO S’AYE III: Lagos Police Nab 147, Seize Weapons, Illicit Drugs | ClipTV Online

The Lagos State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on criminal elements with the arrest of 147 suspects. The command also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, illicit drugs and other dangerous items. This is under the coordinated raid known as Operation KO S’AYE III.

KO S’AYE is Lagos Police Command operation indicating that there is no chance for crime in Lagos. KO S’AYE was conducted in the early hours of Sunday, targeted at criminal hideouts in Boolar, Super Ile-Epo. This operation was also carried out in other identified black spots across the state, following credible intelligence on hoodlums terrorising residents.

According to the Command, the raid commenced at about 5:30 a.m. by operatives drawn from various police formations and tactical units. The operation forms part of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks, reclaim public spaces and deny criminals safe havens across Lagos.

During the exercise, police arrested a total of 147 suspects believed to be involved in various criminal activities.

Items recovered from the suspects include 250 expanded cartridges, 22 machetes, five battle axes, two knives. Other items substances suspected to be Indian hemp were also discovered.

The Police said all the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine their individual roles and level of involvement. The command further noted that those found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Commending the KO S’AYE operatives for the successful operation, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, praised their professionalism, courage and dedication to duty.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to sustaining Operation KO S’AYE III, stressing that similar intelligence-driven operations would continue across the state to dismantle criminal hideouts and strengthen public safety.

The Commissioner also appealed to residents to continue supporting the Police by providing timely and credible information that will assist in identifying criminal hideouts, arresting offenders and preventing crime.

He assured Lagosians that the Command remains resolute in its mandate to protect lives and property. Furthermore, he urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious persons. He included that suspicious activities or movements should be timely reported to the nearest police station or the Command’s emergency lines.

The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed that it will continue to deploy proactive policing strategies and intelligence-led operations to ensure that criminals have no refuge anywhere within the state.
