Breaking: Landgrabbers Allegedly Plot to Bribe Lagos State Commissioner of Police | Cliptv Online

Banjoko Ogidi Family of Ginti Community Raises Alarm Over Ongoing Intimidation and Attempts to Evade Justice

In a startling revelation, the Banjoko Ogidi Family of Ginti Community in Ijede LCDA, Ikorodu, Lagos, exposes a sinister plot by alleged notorious landgrabbers to bribe key law enforcement officials.

Alleged landgrabbers, Nafiu Abiodun and his associate Meyaki Ibrahim, are at the center of a controversy as they are purportedly attempting to bribe Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha, to escape legal consequences. The Banjoko Ogidi Family has come forward with evidence, including secret recordings, shedding light on the clandestine plans of the accused individuals.

Alh Moruf Olowosago, speaking on behalf of the family during a news briefing, disclosed that the recorded discussions implicated Nafiu and Meyaki in efforts to meet with the Commissioner at the Officers Mess. The objective, as alleged by Olowosago, was to discuss the removal of illegal arms charges against arrested cultists linked to the accused landgrabbers.

The family further presented a recorded phone call involving the Olotu of Ginti, Nafiu, and an unnamed individual. In this call, plans to provide monetary incentives, including five million Naira to the Commissioner and one million to CSP Geoffrey Soliwei, Head of the CP Tactical Squad, Area N and H, were allegedly discussed.

The apparent goal of these payments, according to Olowosago, was to secure the removal of charges, tamper with evidence, and release the arrested cultists, posing a potential threat to the entire community.

Accompanying the allegations are photos of previous attacks by Nafiu and his associates on the Banjoko Ogidi family. Olowosago recounted years of intimidation, land grabbing, and violence orchestrated by Nafiu and his group, turning the community into what he described as a “cultists’ camp.”

The family accused the police of a lackluster response to their calls for security, claiming complicity and alleging that some officers, including Officer Oba Marcus, are involved in the landgrabbing activities.

Despite filing multiple police reports over the years, the family found no immediate response from the authorities. This prompted them to engage the services of the local vigilante group, Agbekoyas, for protection.

The recent involvement of a S.W.A.T team from Abuja resulted in the arrest of one person in possession of a gun. The family believes that the arrest of four of Nafiu’s boys during a raid by CSP Geoffrey’s Task Force Unit has heightened the desperation of the alleged landgrabbers.

Expressing fears for their safety, the Banjoko Ogidi family is appealing to the Lagos State Government and the Inspector General of Police for intervention and justice. The Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed ongoing investigations into the case and acknowledged the arrest of suspected cultists with arms from the community.
