Caught In The Act: A Suspect Was Caught Removing Burglary In Ikorodu

This was discovered at the early hour on Friday. The residents who prefer his name not to be mentioned raised the alarm was on the way to mosque when he discovered a strange movement towards the uncompleted building.

The issue of stealing and burgling has been a regular routine in the Boge area Between Igbodu and Limited bus stop on Ijede Road, Ikorodu area of Lagos State. The residents has been on the outlook for the culprits.

The community leaders, residents and security personnel gathered around 5am to ensure that the thief is discovered and handled by the law rather than residents taking the Laws into their hands.

The suspect identity is yet unknown as at the hour he was discovered. It was confirmed he is a Northern native speaker.

A resident mentioned that this is not the first time. “The last time we caught a suspect and went to the Hausa community in the area (Sabo Kasoa) to report the case, we were beaten and molested by the Hausa people. Though, we have caught other Yoruba boys stealing in the area too but the Hausas has been quite hostile.”

Another resident expresses her disappointment at another time the case was taking to handled by a security personnel, it was confirmed that the suspect returned to the area in 3 days time and working elegantly which signaled that he is above the law.

The residents pleads for the Lagos State Government intervention to help in addressing the issues.
