DIG Isyaku Concludes Benue Security Tour, Strengthens Community Policing | ClipTV Online

Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Training and Development, Isyaku Mohammed, has concluded his two-day security assessment tour of Benue State, engaging government, traditional rulers, officers, and crime reporters. Francis Ter reports.

DIG Isyaku Mohammed, who doubles as coordinating DIG for the North-Central zone, was in Benue on behalf of Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to assess security operations and deepen community-based policing.

Security correspondent Francis Ter Lumum reports :During the tour, he met with sister security agencies and stakeholders on curbing crime, and paid courtesy visits to Governor Hyacinth Alia, the Tor Tiv, and the Och’Idoma, where he stressed the role of traditional rulers in peace building and intelligence gathering.

He also addressed officers and men of the Benue State Police Command, relaying IGP Disu’s message and commending their sacrifice in maintaining law and order.

As representative of the IGP, DIG Mohammed also spoke on the security of schools in the North Central, urging owners of schools to key into the Nigeria Police Safe School Programme.

After the tour, DIG Mohammed fielded questions from crime reporters on police reforms and security in the North-Central.
