Family, friends, and community members came together to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the passing of Senior Evangelist Isaiah Abiodun Sonusi, as celebrated by the family of Olabisi Sonusi, the Public Relations Officer of the FRSC Lagos State Sector Command.
The two-day celebration event, held over the weekend at the late father’s church and home in Agbado, Ogun State, was marked by heartfelt thanksgiving to God.
Reflecting on her late father, Olabisi Sonusi shared fond memories, describing him as a devoted and caring father who prioritized his children’s well-being. Despite his own health challenges, he ensured their safety and supported them in their endeavors.
After his passing in 2004, the family faced challenges, but they found strength in their father’s legacy. Many of his children have since thrived, with some even residing abroad. The celebration served as a testament to his enduring impact on their lives and the community.
Senior Evangelist Isaiah Abiodun Sonusi was known for his generosity and community involvement. He was a pillar in his church, serving as its first Secretary and actively contributing to various activities, including the harvest ceremony, which he believed in celebrating regardless of financial constraints.
His legacy of love and dedication to family resonates deeply with his children, who fondly remember his jovial nature and the joy he brought to those around him.
Reflecting on her father’s legacy, Olabisi Sonusi urged fathers to be actively involved in their children’s lives, emphasizing the importance of quality time and support. She highlighted the impact of parental presence on shaping a child’s future.
Oladapo Johnson Sonusi, the first son of the family, echoed his sister’s sentiments, recalling their father’s warmth and sociable nature. He emphasized the need for families to prioritize love and unity, lamenting the erosion of familial bonds in today’s digital age.
The commemoration of Senior Evangelist Isaiah Abiodun Sonusi’s legacy served as a poignant reminder of the enduring impact of a loving and dedicated father, inspiring others to cherish family bonds and nurture relationships.
