The National Chairman of Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC) and Executive Vice Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas on her recent appointment as a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State.
In a congratulatory message released to the media, Dr. Olabanji-Oba described Hon. Okoya-Thomas as a symbol of feminine excellence in leadership and a distinguished public servant whose contributions to Lagos State have been both impactful and inspiring.
Aarebirin Hon. (Dr.) Folashade Olabanji-Oba hailed Hon. Okoya as a passionate and selfless leader whose commitment to service goes beyond official duties. She described Hon. Okoya as not only a dedicated public servant but also a nurturing figure. “A true mother to many,” she said. According to Aarebirin, Hon. Okoya exemplifies compassionate leadership by consistently supporting and uplifting others, especially the vulnerable and underserved. Her ability to combine strength with empathy has earned her the respect and admiration of both colleagues and community members. Aarebirin emphasized that leaders like Hon. Okoya are rare — those who lead not just with authority, but with heart, humility, and genuine care for the well-being of others. She further note that the new responsibilities as GAC members will will enhance the Governor and the party’s vision.
“The appointment of Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas to the prestigious GAC is well deserved. She has not only represented Lagos with grace and diligence during her time in the House of Representatives but has also consistently exemplified exceptional feminine leadership qualities,” Dr. Olabanji-Oba stated.
She further expressed confidence that Hon. Okoya-Thomas will bring depth, experience, and value to the council, further advancing the progressive ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and contributing meaningfully to the continued development of Lagos State.
“Her voice will no doubt enrich the vision of our leaders and serve as an inspiration to more women aspiring to positions of influence and governance,” she added.
