Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, has marked her 100th day in office for a second term which ahowcases a strong commitment to the improvement of the lives of residents. Speaking at the event held at Sen. Adebayo Osinowo Hall, Council Secretariat, she highlighted her administration’s dedication to delivering results that foster community growth, empower families, and strengthen local development.

During her keynote address, Princess Bada outlined key road and infrastructure projects that have enhanced mobility and safety across the LCDA. Streets such as Adetuburu, Isaac Omole, Temitayo-Obisanyanb, and Onibeju were completed, while local roads like Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Street and Solomon Niran Aluko Street were upgraded in response to residents’ requests, reflecting the administration’s focus on community-driven solutions.

Economic empowerment also featured prominently in the 100-day review. The Chairman officially unveiled the Mile12 International Market, designed to provide traders with a secure and organized business environment. She further emphasized developments along Science Road in UNILAG Estates, linking education, housing, and enterprise under the THEMES PLUS Infrastructure Agenda to promote accessibility and local economic growth.

She stressed further that the administration’s vision remains centered on community-oriented projects these includes a low-cost housing scheme for working-class families, a recreational center to encourage youth engagement and wellness, a model fire station for safety, the reconstruction of primary schools to global standards and the new palace of the Onikosi of Ikosi which is also underway as a heritage project to reinforce unity and civic pride.

On social initiatives, Princess Bada announced a new program under the “RENEWED HOPE” initiative, which will see 500 residents receive ₦100,000 each month starting at the end of November.

“As we celebrate progress, I want to encourage all residents of Ikosi- Isheri, especially our youth and women, to participate actively in voters’ registration. Your permanent voters’ card is your voice, the key to sustaining development and ensuring that the RENEWED HOPE we enjoy today continues to blossom tomorrow. Political participation begins with registration, and together we can make a voice in shaping the future we all desire.”

The Chairman also reiterated her administration’s focus on collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, civil servants, and political stakeholders, acknowledging their role in the success achieved so far. She introduced the Keke Mayoress initiative, a door-to-door waste collection program complementing the existing Keke Maruwa system, aimed at promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.

Additionally, Princess Bada addressed road infrastructure and public space management, urging residents to take responsibility for shared facilities. She warned against unauthorized conversion of public roads into private spaces inorder to ensure that community assets remain functional and accessible for all.

In her Reflection on leadership and governance, the Executive Chairman emphasized that guidance and collaboration have driven the council’s achievements. She reassured residents that her administration remains open, responsive and committed to building a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.

Since assuming office, Princess Bada has earned wide acclaim for her hands-on leadership and measurable impact on the community. From healthcare upgrades to accelerated project delivery, she has demonstrated an unwavering focus on improving the quality of life for residents.

Her administration has successfully completed previously abandoned projects, enhanced roads and street lighting, and strengthened healthcare delivery. Residents hailed her as a model leader, noting that her promises during past press briefings and stakeholder meetings have been fully realized.

The 100-day milestone celebration drew prominent APC figures, members of the LCDA Governing Council, grassroots party representatives, community leaders, and residents from across Ikosi-Isheri.
