International Substance Abuse Professionals Collaborate with Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba for Evidence-Based Measures | Cliptv Online

The Lagos Branch of the International Society of Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Professionals (ISSUP) took a significant step towards preventing and treating substance abuse by paying a courtesy visit to the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos. Led by Mrs. Titilope Ogunluyi, the Lagos State Branch Coordinator, the international organization of professionals met with key hospital officials, including the Managing Director, Dr. Olugbenga Adekile Owoeye; Medical Director of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Jumoke Koyejo, ISSUP Southwest Coordinator; Dr. Arit Esangbedo, and Mrs. Harrit Igbinoba.

During the fruitful meeting, the hospital management offered their facilities to host ISSUP Lagos Branch meetings. This collaboration will provide professionals with hands-on recovery support and treatment options while also advocating for effective prevention strategies.

The International Society of Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Professionals (ISSUP) is a membership organization dedicated to connecting and uniting the global substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support workforce. The organization aims to promote knowledge and excellence in the field through training and networking opportunities. Their vision is to build a cohesive, well-trained, and effective international network of professionals committed to evidence-based and ethical substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support. By professionalizing the field and fostering development among substance use professionals, ISSUP seeks to elevate substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery support to a unique and multidisciplinary domain.

The collaboration between ISSUP Lagos Branch and the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, is a critical stride towards combatting substance abuse and enhancing the quality of treatment and recovery support in Lagos and beyond. By pooling expertise and resources, both entities are working together to address the challenges posed by substance abuse and promote a healthier and more resilient community.
