Lagos Police Intercept 10 Bags of Hard Drugs in Successful Operation, Collaborates with NDLEA for Prosecution | Cliptv Online

In a successful operation, the Nigeria Police Force Lagos State Command intercepted 10 bags of hard drugs and apprehended the suspects involved. The Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this during a press conference on Tuesday, 18th July 2023.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police conducted thorough investigations into the case and decided to hand over the suspects and the exhibits to the relevant authority responsible for combating drug abuse, the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The purpose is to ensure a comprehensive investigation and prosecution of the suspects in accordance with the law.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin reiterated CP Idowu Owohunwa’s commitment to collaborating with the public and the NDLEA to establish a drug-free society in Lagos State under his leadership as the Lagos State Police Commissioner.

Expressing gratitude, the Assistant Commander in charge of Narcotics at NDLEA, Zofun Joseph Setonji, commended the Lagos State Police Command, led by CP Idowu Owohunwa, for their exemplary work. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to rid the country of hard drugs.

Zofun further stated, “Today, we are witnessing another positive evidence of a healthy synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and NDLEA. We want to encourage members of the public not to withhold any relevant information that can help NDLEA in the war against drug abuse.”

Following the signing of the handover notes presented by the Lagos Police Command, officers from the NDLEA took custody of the suspects and the seized exhibits.
