Lagos Police Parade 32 Suspects and Warn Against Illegal Possession of Arms | Cliptv Online

The Lagos State Police Command paraded 32 suspects on Tuesday, showcasing the results of one month of intensive policing that led to the arrest of individuals involved in various crimes, including product adulteration, illegal firearms fabrication, armed robbery, theft, and cultism.

Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa reported that the arrests resulted in the recovery of twenty-five firearms, which included a toy gun, seventy-four live cartridges, twelve expended cartridges, twelve long pipes, two drilling machines, one gas cylinder, one vehicle, various fabricated tools, two daggers, one UTC axe, an assortment of charms, and 251 adulterated wires.

Owohunwa stated that all suspects would be arraigned in court after the conclusion of investigations. He took the opportunity to call on non-state actors who still possess firearms to surrender them immediately to avoid arrest and prosecution.

The Commissioner also affirmed that the Command would continue its crackdown on the illegal fabrication, sale, possession, and use of prohibited firearms in compliance with the directive from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, aimed at retrieving all arms and ammunition from non-state actors.
