NPF Recruitment: Screening Kicks Off Smoothly Across Nigeria

…PSC Boss Acknowledges Progress, Calls for Improvement in the process.

The nationwide screening of over 400,000 Nigerian youths who applied for recruitment into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force commenced successfully today. Conducted across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the process experienced initial challenges but gained momentum as the day progressed.

Handling the credentials screening is the Police Service Commission (PSC), while the physical screening is managed by officers of the Nigeria Police Force, with additional support from the Ministry of Police Affairs, Federal Character Commission, Police Trust Fund, and Police Colleges.

Dr. Solomon Arase, the National Coordinator and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, and retired Inspector General of Police, expressed satisfaction with the overall coordination but emphasized the need for continuous improvement. Dr. Arase stated that the screening exercise represents the first formal contact between the candidates and the officers of the Commission and the Police.

He commended the collaborative efforts of the institutions comprising the Police Recruitment Board and assured that the Commission would ensure the success of the entire recruitment exercise.

Despite the successful start, Dr. Arase stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and dedicated, urging field workers not to lower their guard but to strive for daily improvement in the screening process.
