PROTEST: AGORO COMMENDS IMOTA RESIDENTS FOR PEACEFUL CONDUCT | ClipTV Online

Prince Agoro commends students and youths, women, artisans, public servants, groups, unions, traditional rulers, religious leaders, labour leaders, as well as the security agencies for fulfilling their promise to maintain peace.

The Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA, Prince Wasiu Kunle Agoro, has commended residents of Imota for distancing themselves from the nationwide protest thereby maintaining the peaceful ambience of the community throughout the day.

In a statement made public by his Chief Press Secretary, Olalekan Soipe, Prince Agoro said that not joining the protest shows that the people of Imota are peaceful and law abiding.

The Executive Chairman said by resisting the temptation to join in the protest, Imota residents especially the youths have averted the much anticipated violent outcomes as reported in some other states of the country, and urged them to maintain their resolve throughout the ten days the protest is scheduled for.

“The decision of the people to shelve the protest, thereby conducting their civic and economic activities in Imota with the usual orderliness, demonstrates their firm belief in the policies of the APC-led administration in the country. It is an indication that the people are willing to give the government more time to improve on their welfare,” the statement reads.

The Council boss also commended the relentless Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu for providing adequate security, which has produced the peace that the state is enjoying.

Prince Agoro noted that “the numerous projects embarked upon by the Sanwo Olu’s administration across the length and breadth of the state are as a result of the support and cordial relationship the administration has enjoyed from the Tinubu-led federal government”.

While calling for unity among the residents, Prince Wasiu Agoro encouraged them to engage in meaningful discussions and dialogue to address their grievances. He emphasized the importance of working together to find common ground and solutions to the challenges facing the nation.

He urged Imota residents to continue to remain peaceful and also attend to their normal businesses during the period of the protest.
