Under the esteemed leadership of CP OQUA ETIM, the Gombe State Police Command has achieved the following successes within the week.
The Command arrested three suspects, Isah Adamu, Auwal Mohammed and Abubakar Nasiru for criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, house trespass, and theft in a dwelling house. On the 6th of August 2023, a formal complaint was received from Mohammed Abdulsalam of Barunde Quarters Gombe, stating that the suspects criminally conspired and break into his home and steal the following items which include a set of Wanda polo boxers, fifteen sets of wrappers, an HP computer with a charger, a satellite receiver, one bedsheet with two curtains, one Sony television set, and a cash sum of one hundred and twenty thousand Naira.
Immediately after receiving the complaint, police detectives from State low-cost division responded by arresting the above suspects. During the investigation, all the stolen properties were recovered from the suspects’ possession. The suspects have confessed to the crime and will soon be charged in court for prosecution.
RAPE:
SUSPECT APPREHENDED AND CONFESSION MADE
Mu’azu Mohammed, a 25-year-old male from Gidim Borehole village, Yamaltu Deba LGA Gombe state, has been accused of luring 15-year-old Aisha Adamu, daughter of Adamu Sani, his neighbor, and committing rape on her on two occasions. The Police authorities were alerted to the crime at roughly 5:30 pm on August 4, 2023, and immediately dispatched officers from Kwadon Divisional Police Headquarters.
After a thorough investigation, the suspect was arrested. Both the victim and Mu’azu were taken to Cottage Hospital Kwadon for a medical examination, where the doctor confirmed the allegations of penetration. The suspect has since confessed to the crime in question. Legal action is currently being taken against him and he will be brought before a judge shortly.
On August 3, 2023, at about 1:00 PM, a distress call was received from the district head of Kulani village, via Balanga LGA, reporting a criminal conspiracy and attempt to commit culpable homicide.
On August 1, 2023, at about 7:40 PM, Adamu Bako, a 70-year-old man of Kwangu-Kulani village in Balanga LGA was reportedly attacked with a dane gun, causing him to sustain bullet wounds on his back and buttocks. Police detectives from Balanga Division visited the crime scene and subsequently rushed the victim to Dr. Fosa Clinic Bambam for medical attention.
As a result of the investigation, six suspects were arrested and charged for their involvement in the crime. The suspects are Umaru Adamu (30), Yahuza Adamu (25), Zubairu Saidu (20), Yusuf Isah (23), Abdullahi Idris (20), and Aminu Abdullahi (26) alias Nerjama. All the suspects are from Kulani village via Balanga LGA. The suspects voluntarily confessed to the crime and are currently awaiting trial.
Three Dane guns were recovered as exhibits from the suspects. The police will continue to investigate the incident to ensure that justice is served.
CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, MISCHIEF, AND THEFT
On August 1st, at approximately 1:30 AM, three suspects, identified as Mohammed Ajuji, Usman Saidu, and Amir Mohammed, were apprehended by the Billri Division Patrol team. The suspects were arrested in connection to a case of vandalization and theft of a transformer belonging to JOS Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) valued at N2,313,000.
Upon interrogation, all three suspects confessed to the crime and will be charged accordingly.
CUPABLE HOMICIDE
On the 04/08/2023 at about 0315hrs, one Mohammed Usman ‘m’ aged 26yrs of Panda village via Kumo in Akko LGA went to Akko Division and reported that on 03/08/2023 at about 1920hrs, one Salisu Lawan ‘m’ aged 22yrs of the same address used a pestol and hit his father by name Usman Bello ‘m’ aged 65yrs of the same address on his head on the allegation of witch craft and the victim fell down unconsciously where he was rushed to General Hospital Kumo where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Case is under investigation and will soon be charged to court upon the conclusion.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim, has urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any information that may lead to the arrest of criminal elements.
