Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, the Executive Chairman, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Council Development Area has once again demonstrated his commitment to the people’s mandate.

Ayoola administration has announced the details of the upcoming 2-month Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Youth Empowerment Summit, with an expected expenditure of N400 million. The program aims to uplift and empower the youth in the region, with the grand finale set for October 1st, featuring the APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel.

Key Highlights of the Program:

A. Target Group:
– 3000 youth are expected to participate in this landmark program.

B. Vocational Skills Training:
– Youth will be trained in various vocational skills, including:
  1. Beauty & Fashion
  2. Hair Dressing & Cosmetology
  3. Point of Sales (POS)
  4. Phone Maintenance & Repairs
  5. Service Industry
  6. Catering
  7. Laying & Pave Stones Making

C. Cash Grants:
– Trainees will receive cash grants on October 1st.

D. Distribution of Vehicles:
– 20 mini buses, 20 keke napeps (tricycles), and 20 dispatch riders will be distributed to 60 trainees. Recipients are strictly warned not to pair or sell these vehicles.

E. Employment Opportunities:
– Holiday jobs at Wema Bank for high school leavers aged 17-25 years, with a monthly pay of N40,000 for 2 months.

F. Summer Sports Camp:
– Opens in August for students, with interested participants directed to visit the Office of the DG, Sports Council in the Council Secretariat.

G. Grants for IT Trainees:
– N500,000 grants for IT trainees in collaboration with Wema Bank.

H. Support for Young Entrepreneurs:
– Grants will be provided to youth entrepreneurs.

I. Assistance for Traders:
– Various items to assist traders will be distributed.

J. Food Distribution:
– Food packs will be distributed to beneficiaries.

K. Transportation Exemptions:
– An agreement with the National Union of Road Transport Workers ensures that beneficiaries of the buses and napeps are exempt from paying registration fees at chosen parks.

L. Fuel to CNG Conversion:

– The administration intends to strike a deal with GAC Motors to convert the buses and napeps from fuel to CNG use to reduce costs.

M. Inclusion of Special Persons:

– People living with disabilities or special persons will be included as beneficiaries.

– An Executive Bill providing for an annual Women and Youth Empowerment Summit is currently before the Legislative Council for consideration.
