Former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Tinubu. Atiku stated this on his X handle, @atiku accusing him of playing the fiddle while Nigeria faces escalating insecurity.

Atiku expressed concern over the President’s absence during critical times, citing incidents like the tragic killing of a nursing mother and grandmother in Abuja for failing to pay a N90 million ransom and the attacks on two monarchs in Ekiti.

In a statement, Atiku questioned the appropriateness of the President being on a so-called private visit while the nation grapples with security challenges. “If the shoes are too big for Emilokan, he should step aside. Nigeria does not need another Tourist-in-Chief,” he said.

He called for more proactive and continuous leadership, stating that Nigeria cannot afford another “Tourist-in-Chief.” Atiku emphasized the urgent need for 24/7 leadership to address the pervasive insecurity and the deteriorating economy.
