Press Society Reveals Reasons Behind Rasheed Bolarinwa’s Return as ACAMB President | Cliptv Online

The Press Society Association of Nigeria has conducted an in-depth analysis to shed light on the factors leading to Rasheed Bolarinwa’s reemergence as the President of the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB) for a second term.

Established during a period when banks faced challenges such as frequent failures, poor lending to the real sector, and concerns about round-tripping in the foreign exchange market, ACAMB has evolved significantly since its inception in 1996. Initially, only a few banks had corporate affairs departments, and they were often limited to small, one-person teams.

Rasheed Bolarinwa, the Head of Corporate Communications at Polaris Bank, secured his position as ACAMB President after winning an election in January 2024. Before this, he served as the association’s Secretary-General for two terms. Bolarinwa’s agenda revolves around the theme “PEAL” (Partnership & Platform, Engagement, Advocacy, and Learning & Value Addition).

In his address after being sworn in, Bolarinwa emphasized the commitment of the new leadership to create an ACAMB that fosters professional growth for marketing communication staff in banks. He expressed a sense of urgency, stating, “We have no time to waste. Work commences immediately.”

The newly elected executives of ACAMB include Oze Kalu as 1st Vice-President, Lola Egboh as 2nd Vice-President, Sipe Babajide as Secretary-General, Omide Odekina as Assistant General-Secretary, Patrick Osilaja as Financial Secretary, Funmilayo Falola as Treasurer, Abdul Imoyo as Publicity Secretary, and Utulu Ozena as Social Secretary.

Among Bolarinwa’s notable achievements as ACAMB President are advocacy visits to the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) to address perception and reputation management issues in the banking sector. Additionally, ACAMB organized conferences focused on the synergy between the Nigerian banking industry and the organized private sector, as well as the evolving role of marketing communications in the financial services industry.

Bolarinwa’s leadership also extended to promoting health and well-being, as demonstrated by ACAMB’s 2022 Aerobic & Health Meet themed “Move and Stay Fit.”
