“We are here for our monthly general meeting”, the CDC Chairman said. We are also here today to conduct a leadership training for all our incoming executives from various CDAs. This training typically occur just before a house dissolution. The training is to prepare incoming executives to understand what is expected of them as leaders in their respective communities. With this training, they will know their portfolios and responsibilities as community leaders. In the past, we invited guest speakers. However, this year, we decided to let experienced leaders amongst us impart knowledge on the new executives.”

Role of CPP

“We want them to be aware of what is in the law, the implications or otherwise of the anti-cultism law. Therefore, we believe that once you are aware of the law guiding your behavior, you will know how to stay away from trouble. It carries a penalty of 21 years imprisonment. Landlords who harbor cultists can forfeit their property.”

Mission Against Cultism

Adelakun Abayomi, the Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA CDC Chairman, reiterated the need to combat cultism and shared insights into CPP’s efforts.

“We are here to spread awareness that cultism is a destructive force that should be eradicated among our youth. I am also a member of Crime Prevention Partnership. We are not here to make arrests but rather to guide these young boys out of cultism through reformation. We do not want them to face discrimination from society.”
