In a heartily birthday message, the Lagos State 2023 Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivor, extended his warm wishes to Chief Dele Momodu. Dele Momodu is the renowned Publisher of Ovation International Magazine. Rhodes-Vivor praised the veteran journalist for his unique method of celebrating his birthday through an intellectually stimulating event.
To mark his birthday, Chief Dele Momodu hosted an inaugural lecture titled “The Politics of Energy & the Way Forward,” delivered by former Minister of Energy, Professor Bartholomew Nnaji. During the lecture, Prof. Nnaji emphasized that Nigeria has the potential to achieve sustainable and adequate energy generation and distribution. He illustrated this point by referencing the Geometric Power Project in Aba, which consistently supplies reliable power to industrial and commercial clients.

Prof. Nnaji highlighted that the Aba Integrated Power Project (Aba IPP), launched by Geometric Power, is a successful model designed to provide dependable power to energy consumers in Aba. He noted that this project has been effectively supplying sufficient power to industries in Aba, suggesting that this model could be replicated on a national scale.
Rhodes Vivor Commend Chief Dele Momodu
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivor congratulated Chief Dele Momodu on his birthday. He expressed his gratitude for organizing such an important lecture. The LP governorship candidate acknowledged the relevance of the discussion, especially given Nigeria’s longstanding energy challenges. Rhodes-Vivor emphasized that Nigeria must define its energy interests independently, rather than relying on agendas set by the United States or Europe.
He further stressed the need for clean energy to sustain productivity in Nigeria. Applauding Professor Nnaji’s efforts, Rhodes-Vivor remarked, “Professor Nnaji’s work is clearly visible in Abia State. We must be able to achieve the kind of energy stability he has demonstrated, as evidenced by his success in Aba”
Rhodes-Vivor also called on the Federal Government to prioritize energy generation and accessibility for its citizens. “The government must create an enabling environment that prioritizes the needs of the people,” he concluded.
This event underscored the critical importance of addressing Nigeria’s energy issues, highlighting the potential pathways to a more stable and sustainable energy future.
